I'm not a fan of bad reviews because I hate to be negative about the work someone did or in this case didn't do. Let me start off by saying that I really enjoy this series, the characters are fun and the plot is interesting. I think that this is definitely an up and coming new author. However, it was incredibly difficult to look past the atrocious editing. There were a multitude of spelling and grammatical mistakes and the punctuation was very odd in a lot of places. I feel a bit scammed out of the few bucks I paid for this because it isn't a finished product suitable for consumer purchase. I'm going to try the next in the series to see if it's better. If not, I unfortunately won't be purchasing more of Skye's work.

In all honesty, this would be a great series with the proper editing.

This one was a quick read. Although, I listened to it while I worked. The story line was easy going and the characters where established. Because of the easy going story line, there were some things that I felt were not completely taken care of - for instance, the split personality. I was happy when Mattheus appeared - he is my favorite character in this series.
the story itself is fairly good....BUT poor punctuation, misspelling, sentences running together, phrases repeating, example "Cindy replied, Cindy replied" I wont be downloading anymore books by Jaden Skye.
This book was very poorly written, The characters were very two dimensional. "Leaps of faith" had to be made between scenes to make them believable. But, worst of all, the descriptions of Grenada and the main town of St. George were simply ludicrous!!!! The Sculpture Park - around which may scenes revolve - is UNDERWATER - a fact sorely missed by the descriptions of it in this silly and trite book!

The author should really visit the locations in which her books are based ... Just for starters!

My all time favorite in books, is this series, how many times I have read the whole series 5-6 times. It is great, memorable to say the least, it's about Cindy and the cop Mattheus. It deals with murder in the Caribbean. The real jewel is it deals with family, past lost, emotions. It follows the lives of Cindy and Mattheus thru the whole series. Read one or all, you will throughly enjoy this series. Series of 16, first to the last, all are great stories.
Have read hundreds of books, I love books that flow, that move quickly, that catch my interest in the beginning and keep going. I read the first in this series, it had a few editing issues, but was free so didn't mind so much. I do find it disconcerting when I read something in the book that is inconsistent, and deviates from the story line, for instance in this book, that the main character found out a fact and then later was told the same thing, and responded as though it was the first time she found it out. That type of inconsistency makes me irritated, because it disrupts the flow of the story. That said, I overlooked this in the first book as it was a free book. So I purchased the second book, this one, and found more inconsistencies. That turned me off this series. I paid $3 for the second book, and they keep going up in price after that, so for that reason also I won't be purchasing further books in the series. I don't see any point in paying to be disappointed. ALSO something that baffles me, why, when it's in a data base on a server somewhere, are these inconsistencies allowed to remain in the copies you are selling? Is it so hard to edit that copy and upload to the server again? I don't get it, and you won't get anymore of my money for these books.

Hearing how Cindy solved her own husband's death Dalia a high school friend begs Cindy to come down to Grenada to help find out what happened to her husband, Ames. He’d gone missing three weeks before. Ames lived a varied life with mistresses and a greedy ex-wife. He had a partner and a fired sea captain of his shipping fleet with suspicions of drug trafficking. A lot of suspects.

Mattheus, one of the cops from the island tries to send her home yet helps in her search.

Others complain of the editing on these books. I listened on audio and didn’t find it troublesome.
Unfortunately, although the story line is interesting, and the characters are entertaining, THE EDITING IS AWFUL !!! I hate to leave bad Feedback and this series of books is the first EVER for which I've left negative feedback. After reading the initial book in the series, I purchased the set of 12 volumes in this Caribbean Murder Series. The editing gets WORSE and WORSE as the series of books goes onward. Having struggled through 7 of them because I enjoyed the characters, I am finally throwing in the towel. I am NOT interested in reading books 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 (although will NOT refund my money because it is 15 days since I purchased) and I must say FOR SHAME on the Author Jaden Skye for allowing good ideas to be presented in such a slip-shod manner. Not only excruciatingly BAD USAGE, but also confusion of character names. Nothing wrecks a story more than to have the main Detective's name exchanged for the name of the Murder Victim, and then the Murder Victim's name following in the next sentence. . .wait, who? REALLY BAD - NOT RECOMMENDED.
