In the blink of an eye a whole world changes . . . nothing will ever be the same again.
When Forensic Expert Mac Taylor decides to work late he is unprepared at the illegal activities that he finds taking place at the police crime lab. There he discovers his lab assistant is destroying crucial crime evidence. He is determined to put an end to this means of sabotage, but he is not quick enough to prevent a lighter being lit in the highly flammable area. The explosion plunges him quickly into a world of complete darkness.
Only when you believe things cannot possibly get any worse, the world suddenly shifts and another obstacle arrives in your life to battle.
Nurse Julie Dalton recently resigned from her job and sought the comfort of her family to help heal the pain in her heart. Arriving home, she learns a neighborhood friend is in need of her help and services. Mac Taylor was blinded in a horrific explosion that cost one man his life. Julie Miller has impressed me with her superb writing talent. IN THE BLINK OF THE EYE is the first of her books I had read, but it surely will not be my last. This Romantic Suspense contained all the elements I have learned to demand from this type of novel. The pages seemed to effortlessly fly by as I helped gather the clues to prove the hero's innocence. This is just the type of book to convert any mystery reader into a romance fan.
This book was really predictable. Mac lost his vision. Julia came to help him. The police have crooked officers. As you read this you can figure out who the bad guys are immediately.
Sometimes bad things happen even to the best of heroes. Has a great story line.
I have enjoyed Julie Miller books since I read the first novel . I would recommend them highly to all readers.
How can you not love a story about the Taylor's?! This was another great story--I love Julie Miller's books. I cannot seem to figure how I missed this book before now--but thankfully I found it and enjoyed it so much. Thanks!!

Julie Miller has done a better job with book three in her Taylor Clan series. I had fallen in love with Mac in the previous book and this book made me love him even more. He walked into his lab one night and became the victim of an explosion. Six weeks after that incident Mac is at his home, but he has one problem; he's blind.

Julie/Jules/Julia Dalton is a register nurse that grew up across the street from them since she was in third grade. She left years earlier, but came home recently after quitting her job. She has thought of Mac Taylor as her hero since she was a freshmen in high school even though she is the friend of his brother Cole.

Julie wasn't prepared to be Mac's nurse let alone his partner when they end up on the run. She has to be his eyes since he cannot see and they work great together. Mac is not happy at all at first when she gets there and then when she plans on leaving him he is just as upset and tries to lock his self away in his room again.

She is not the only one that is helping Mac clear his name after he is being framed by somebody on the inside. Mac's family is helping him out along with Julie. Mitch, Josh, and Ginny Taylor are helping Mac out along with Ginny's partner from the second book Merle Banning. Merle ends up getting hurt protecting Mac and Julie.

When it comes down to the end it was exciting to see who was in on the blackmailing and unlike the last two books this one had a nice wedding. It also told about the characters from the last two book. Mitch and his wife Casey's baby boy Mitchell Taylor III and the fact that Brett and Ginny are now married.

Martha Taylor has a bigger role in this book than the last two books and so does her best friend, Julie's mom Barbara Dalton. They now want more grand babies.

I loved this book because Mac even in his moments of brooding is a wonderful guy to fall for. Julie is patient with him too. I have read this book once but will defiantly put on my books to reread.

My Advice, read the series starting with the first book, One Good Man.

GOOD READ! Well written, great action sequences, excellent descriptive imagery, good supporting cast, and the sprinkle of clues throughout the book leads to a plausible ending. HOWEVER, the plot stumbles occasionally, Mac's ability to function "on the run" after hiding away for weeks is unrealistic, and there are unanswered questions at the end.

THE STORY follows police forensic specialist MacKinley Taylor, wallowing in self-pity after a forensic lab explosion damages his vision. Enter trauma care nurse, Julia Dalton, who pushes him to face his fears, and together they embark on a dangerous journey to identify the culprit and motive behind the lab's destruction.

OVERALL, strong writing and exceptional characters. Mac's blindness finally lets him "see" himself as more than his analytical job, and gives Julia, who suffers from poor self image, a chance to embrace Mac's perception of her as a women of strength, courage and beauty. The deepening relationship makes for a sweet romance.
