Yet another EPIC love story for the Hades Hangmen MC. I love, love, LOVE a good triad love story, and Tillie Cole did a magnificent job of bringing this story to life while still keeping true to the MC feel of the series.

Finding love and keeping it is no feat for a one percenter and the Hades Hangmen live knowing any day could be their last. Each haunted by their own pasts (even their women know life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows), these men live a life they’re willing to die to defend and protect and know they’ll have their brothers by their sides.

With Cowboy and Hush, that brotherhood bond is much stronger than just being MC brothers. With a history that stems from past and present social issues they end up finding the love they’ve longed for in Sia, a forbidden temptation with sass, feistiness and a tough exterior that would put any biker in their place. Being the sister of their VP, they know she’s off-limits, but they feel a connection to her that overrides any fears they have a retribution from their VP and Prez. She becomes the air they breathe and they’ll let everything go to keep her in their lives.

But inside, Sia is just as broken as Hush and Cowboy is the glue that binds them all-the three of them find something truly remarkable and outside the norm, especially in the MC life. The three of them share a deeper understanding of each and it only intensifies their connection and makes it that much more beautiful.

This was a remarkable story and Tillie Cole told it brilliantly

CRUX UNTAMED
by Tillie Cole

****4.5 stars

We got book 6 from Hades Hangmen and as the previous book Tillie didn’t disappoint. It’s was full of action, carnage, pain, hot burning passion, life lessons and so much love. All the books on this series are DARK ROMANCE and a lot of taboo topics are presented. As I always recommended before if you are not an open minded person and don’t have a strong stomach you can’t reads this books. The topics presented here will be hard to digest as so much human pain and carnage would be displayed.

The taboo topic in this one in my eyes is UNCONVENTIONAL LOVE. A strong love between 3 damage souls. Sia (Ky Willis sister)and Hush and Cowboy (the Hangmen Nomads). You would ask how this would be beautiful and real love? My only answer for you would be because love doesn’t care about numbers and color of the skin.

“Love doesn’t see color. Only pure hearts.”

A heart can be big enough to be filled by more than one love. In this case, there’s three lovers involve. Two amazing, hansome, different, damage young men and a gorgeous, sassy, resilient, woman. There’s no jealousy or judgement between them just deep love and understanding.

“One free, one guarded, but both striking lightning into my soul”.

This two will make sure all the suffering and pain Sia had endured in the hand of a sadistic prick will never happen again and her safety and happiness is their main goal. No matter how much blood will have to be shredded to ensure this. In exchange Sia’s love and understanding will force Hush to deal with the demons in his head and learn to love himself, the color of his skin, his disability and just let love in. It’s not easy when all your life the world you know had make sure to put you down every step of the way. Cowboy’s been Hush best friend since forever have seen his friend battle prejudice all his life. He had become the anchor for both of them and Sia. Cowboy might be the fun easy going guy but he is not without struggles too. His pain comes from thinking he never did enough to keep Hush safe. I love that Tillie focus more on the topic of prejudice, racism, human trafficking, family ordeal and unconventional love than just a simple hot threesome. Witch by the way I got tell you all the sex scenes are hot but they are also really TASTEFUL, SWEET and PASSIONATE. The center of this is not EROTICISM. This is why I love her writing so much. They are story with meaning. It has everything my reader heart desires.

The whole gang of bikers and their love interest will be present at some point been that Ky is Sia’s brother and will have something to say about his sister choice of love life and the issue with the Cartel. A lot of Chapters of the Hangmen will make an appearance as well. There’s always trouble to fix and this men are FAMILY. If one goes down the others will bring HELL and HADES down to everyone trying to destroy them. It’s always a sweet treat to see the men of the other stories since I’ll never get enough of Ky, Flame, AK, Little Ash, Viking’s naughty infuriating mouth and OH Styx brooding, sexy dark presence. Being THE PREZ of the Hades Hangmen it’s a must to have him commanding the club as well as my heart.

I can’t wait for book 7 and finally have Tanner’s story. I’m really intrigued about it. If you haven’t start this series yet, you have plenty of time to go for it before the next installment of the HADES HANGMEN.
I think this series has been mostly 4 and 5 star reads, because it has been a great blend of romance and intriguing underlying plot. This book was completely out of balance.

The character portrayals left me feeling flat. It's 2017. While there is still racism, as the author finally points at the 90%+ mark, these people live in Austin, a progressive paradise. People would be whipping themselves in the street over the disservice done to Hush. Hush would be the leader of the local BLM movement. The angsty self-hate he carried around with him dragged him down as a character and was quite frankly not believable. Cowboy was brought up 100% KKK-oriented - his personal transformation to social justice warrior when EVERYONE in his life held the same white supremacist beliefs that he himself actually held for his entire life just didn't ring true. He finally found a conscience when a few weeks before he was all in? It could have happened, but this writer did not deliver it up in any credible way. And then Elysia - abused pretty horrifically when she let Juan's pretty face lead her astray - let 2 pretty faces seduce her into a menage.

The romance - wasn't feeling it. It felt uneven, and I never felt a whole lot of chemistry other than physical attraction. I saw lots of empathy for each others' pasts, but things that would make them connect on any visceral left - I just didn't see them. The sex scenes were fairly awkward as well - there's a lot better menage out there than was done in this book.

The underlying plot - will the guy who kidnapped Sia get her again (of course he will -otherwise there really wouldn't have been underlying plot) - so there was no tension. I will say, it was anti-climatic and extremely rushed when the underlying plot finally reared its head about 70% of the way into this read.

Net, this was largely character driven, with Hush trying to work out his demons, and that got old really fast. I also felt it was a touch hypocritical - being a racist is horrible, but being a misogynist - and there was was a lot of pejorative discussion about women coming out of both Hush and Cowboy's mouths - is equally despicable.

I will read the next one, because for the most part, this series, has been terrific. While I would rather have read about Viking next, I guess Tanner is up.
